Ocean Beach is a ‘must visit’ when visiting the Whangarei Heads area. Surf patrolled in Summer. Great white sand Pacific Ocean Beach at its best! Climb the hill either to the left or the right and you’ll fins another deserted beach!

Ocean Beach is an absolutely stunning piece of Northland’s coast. Can be still and hot or wild and moody depending on the season and weather. Climb around the rocks at low tide or over the hill to an even more expansive beach. Swim. Surf. Walk for hours. Collect shells. Watch the waves. Also links to excellent tracks and look outs. 10-15 mins drive from Country Nirvana, you will find yourself at Whangarei’s premier surf beach with its beautiful white sand and views of Bream Head. Lifeguards on duty over summer months. Play in the surf, run down the dunes, or just explore the surrounding environment. Public toilets in the car park.
