Built in 1882 by the French missionary Abbe Dubois , it's a grand Gothic - style basilica , the only one in the state with an impressive Gothic pointed arches and tower , the oldest Church in the state and elevated to the status og Minor Basilica , the major festivities held St Mary's Feast in the month of September
