Point of Interest
“Casa Batlló is a building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, the highest representative of Catalan modernism. It is a comprehensive remodeling of a previously existing building on the site, the work of Emilio Sala Cortés. It is located at number 43 of Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona, the wide avenue that runs through the Ensanche district (Eixample), in the so-called Manzana de la discordia, because it houses, in addition to this building, other works by modernist architects: the Amatller house, which borders Gaudí's, the work of Josep Puig i Cadafalch; the Lleó Morera House, the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner; the Casa Mulleras, by Enric Sagnier; and the Casa Josefina Bonet, by Marceliano Coquillat. The construction was carried out between the years 1904 and 1906”

“What i like most about this must-see in Barcelona is the exhibition they have in the underground of the cathedral with the models Gaudí created to build it During the summer is necessary to book it in advance if you want to go in, if not it would be almost impossible to get a ticket for the day”

“Gaudí’s magical garden park, opened in 1926, is a huge space full of fascinating modernist designs, garden features, and amazing views. It’s a perfect day trip, ideal if you want to get lost and let your imagination fly. Come early or late in the day to avoid the crowds, and bring a snack to eat while enjoying the views! As a curiosity, you should know entrepreneur Eusebi Güell gave Gaudí the assignment of drawing up plans for developing an estate for well-off families on this large property. He wanted to recreate the British residential parks, which is why he named it Park Güell, in English.”

“Large area with you can spend hours in! Starting with the Arc de Triomf and then walking through to the lovely avenue with palm trees on each side. Entering the park you have smaller parks and a lake to go paddling in full of ducks! At the far end you have the Barcelona Zoo. Also plenty of musicians and artists around!”

“Surely "the" museum to visit in Barcelona. For the artist and for the building. Imagine Montcada Street, in the Gothic quarter, five mansions united to form a museum, lovely to visit. About Pablo Ruiz Picasso the museum is essential to understand his formative years. The genius of the young artist is revealed to us through more than 3,500 works that make up this permanent collection.”
