Housed in a former Nabisco box printing factory on the banks of the Hudson, the museum was designed with the help of artist Robert Irwin. Its collection of minimalist and land art includes exemplary works by Richard Serra, Walter de Maria, Louise Bourgeois, Gerhard Richter, and Donald Judd. Ask the gallery attendants—nicely!—to open the gate so you can walk right up to Heizer’s sculptures and see their scale. This works best on the weekends.
One of the most known local museums and a unique place displaying modern art in an old factory warehouse. Must visit!
