I've yet to visit but I'm reliably informed by others that this is quite a spectacle! Check out the website for feeding times. Opened in 2002 by a local partnership with support from the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Welsh Red Kite Trust and various other notable wildlife organisations and individuals. Visitors may sit in the specially built hide only feet away from diving birds and observe them competing naturally for the food provided by the feeding centre at regular times throughout the year.

Red Kite feeding station, Gigrin farm, Rhayader is just under an hours drive from Welshpool and is a great place to see the Red Kites. We do occasionally get the odd red kite over Welshpool. www.gigrin.co.uk

The Red Kite Feeding station gives you the chance to meet the beautiful red kite who is fast becoming an iconic species in Wales. The Red Kite Feeding Station feeds the local birds every day of the year. Feeding times are at 2pm or 3pm depending on the season. If you’re very lucky you may see a white kite.
