Tybee-I grew up going to the Sugar Shack after a day at the beach. Decent food-great ice cream. Just don't take it personally-the staff is just grouchy

A quick, family, and budget friendly option. Dress code is whatever you come off the beach in. Menu is basics: burgers, sandwiches, and ice cream.

The Sugar Shack has been an island staple for over 30 years and now serves a full menu daily. A visitor favorite are their vast hand-dipped jersey ice cream flavors; from banana pudding to pralines and cream – there’s a flavor for everyone!

THE BEST ice cream on Tybee comes from this family owned shop. I love the banana pudding and key lime flavors, but try the others! Also, with homemade ice cream overflowing massive cones for less than $6, its a great value and a lovely way to finish off a day at the beach - or start an evening on the beach! TIP - this shop is next to my favorite beach access point for night time star gazing. Super dark, and almost zero light pollution makes for a great opportunity to see a passing meteor shower. FYI - Sugar Shack also serves diner-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I haven't had much more than breakfast there, which I took to go so I could eat on the beach.
