Audubon Park is located uptown, across the street from Tulane and Loyola Universities. It's easily accessible by the St. Charles Streetcar. You can also access the Audubon Zoo by walking through the park toward Magazine St.
We locals like to go up to the river behind the Zoo (an area called the fly) & sit & watch the sunset on the Mississippi River.
"Audubon Park is fun for the whole family, with park stables, playgrounds, jogging paths, tennis courts, and more, all surrounded by ancient live oaks."
Gorgeous park, amazing ancient live oaks, broad green spaces, lovely biking/walking loop
Beautiful, giant, old oak trees. A golf course. A track for strolling, running, bikes, etc. Across the avenue from the universities. Audubon Zoo is also attached. Worth making a day out of the visit.

“"City Park is as magical and unique as the city of New Orleans. The 1,300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. Each year, millions of visitors stroll under the same historic oaks and picturesque moss canopies that served as the backdrop for dances, concerts and even gentlemanly duels or “affaires d’honneur” for generations."”
