Who does the stopping is generally dictated by who is closest to the final passing place you approach. Don't drive past the final one in the face of an oncoming vehicle or you will be expected to reverse. •Only enter a passing place on your left. If the passing place is on your right, stop opposite it and let the oncoming vehicle enter the space. •Passing places are also there to enable traffic to overtake. Check your mirrors regularly and if there is a car behind you, please pull into the first available passing place on the left and stop to allow them to overtake. •Don’t park in passing spaces. •It is common practice for drivers to acknowledge each other with a small wave as you meet at a passing place to thank each other for the courtesy shown. •The roads are usually quiet and the scenery is always breathtaking, so relax and enjoy the drive, you’re on holiday!

  • BnB on koru keskellä Dornien pientä vilkasta asuintilaa. Eilean Donanin linna on kivenheiton päässä. Miinukset: Todella vaikea sanoa.

Paras matkahuone, kiitos Vivienne

    Aurelia2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Paikka on todella puhdas ja hyvin varusteltu! Helppo sisään- ja uloskirjautuminen. 2 askeleen päässä linnasta. Erinomainen yö.

    Alexis & Mathilde2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Erittäin hyvä paikka 400 m linnasta, rauhallinen ja erittäin siisti huone, runsas aamiainen

Bright and airy bedroom, private bathroom with deep luxury bath in a modern house designed to maximise the stunning view of the sea and the surrounding mountains. An extensive breakfast selection, including home made and local produce. The house is situated in the village of Stromeferry, a short drive from bridge to the Isle of Skye and also from the NC500 Route.
A unique contemporary property with outstanding views. The house is situated in a tiny village with good transport links. Stromeferry is an ideal base for exploring both the Isle of Skye and this part of the Scottish Highlands. We are sited in a good place for those following 'northcoast500' - especially if an extra day for exploring the Isle of Skye is on the agenda. The seashore is a few minutes walk away. Woodland walks nearby and lots of wildlife on the doorstep. We are regularly seeing a seal popping up and down in the water, also dolphins infrequently visit the loch and their movement is clearly visible from the house. There are boat trips in the area and we will happily recommend something to suit your plans. Breakfast offers a chance to try some Highland cheeses, the freshest of eggs from our own hens, home-made bread and jams as well as a selection of fruits and cereal.
Stromeferry is all about the view. The village is small (15 houses), quiet and easy to drive to. It is an ideal base for exploring both the Isle of Skye, Lochalsh, the Applecross Peninsula and Torridon areas.

    Jamie2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Upea talo upeassa paikassa, josta on upeat näkymät. Puhtaasti puhdas. Isännät olivat ihania ja aamiainen oli suuri. Toivottavasti palaamme joskus tulevaisuudessa.

    Madeleine2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
Tämän bnb: n suuri plussa on aamiainen, jota tarjoavat todella erinomaisen laadun isännät (erityisesti puutarhan kanojen munat)). Suosittelemme tätä bnb!

    Aurélien2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Erittäin mukava talo, josta on upeat näkymät Loch Carronille. Kathleen ja Julian olivat erittäin mukavia isäntiä ja saivat meidät tuntemaan olonsa kotoisaksi.

  • Fabulous. Ei halunnut lähteä.

    Tim2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
Jopa huomasi hirven! Mukava iso kylpyamme ja vakaa laajakaistayhteys. Vuodevaatteiden, pyyhkeiden, kylpytuotteiden laatu oli hyvä. Aamiainen oli myös hienoa! Paljon laadukkaita elintarvikkeita, erityisesti juustoa ja tuoreita munia! Kaiken kaikkiaan suuri kokemus.

My place is close to nowhere. The idea is to escape! There are pubs , restaurant and shops in Plockton if that is what you seek.. You’ll love my place because of the views, the escape, and the chance to experience something different on a budget.. The Pent Hoose is good for couples and solo adventurers, but it will only accommodate 2 people. There is NO electricity and you will need to bring sleeping bags and a torch. Please read all the details before you book! Check in 4 - 6 pm!!
This is a WOODEN TENT. Instead of sleeping on the ground under canvas we give you a covered mattress on to which you can put your sleeping bags. The "hoose" is in a field on a farm which has sheep, goats, llamas, racoons, ducks, hens, rabbits, owls and a donkey. They roam freely around the farm and you will see them on your way to the penthouse or evidence that they have been there! You can get food near our white painted house with which to feed them and can come in to the Racoon pen and feed them with one of us.
They published the local crime statistics a few years ago and 54 crimes had been committed, 53 of them by the same man "drunk and disorderly" and one by a confused dementia patient who walked off with an umbrella! It is a quiet, peaceful location which we enjoy. We could "update" our lodges and camping facilities but we fear it would attract a different clientele which we would rather avoid. Our best guests have been coming for over 30 years to enjoy the walking, sailing, climbing and just relaxation they get from this lovely area. We have had people marry on the beach and their offspring got engaged to other guests offspring that they met whilst on holiday as children. A home from home for so many people who are now classed more as friends than guests and we would not want to change this. Thus if you would class your self as "fussy" or "particular" or have not gone camping under canvas before, think twice about what you book as this may not be for you. There is no electricity in the "hoose" and the toilet is a walk away, you may encounter sheep (or the tell tale signs that one has been there!) on your way and this, whilst normal for wild campers, may not appeal to everyone.

Welcome to Otter Bay, a newly built larch-clad house which we designed and commissioned. The location, beside a tidal loch in the mountains of Kintail is stunning and peaceful. It is set back on a peninsular where some days the only sounds are of wading birds. Guests like to visit Skye from here, but many are amazed at the beauty locally in Lochalsh. Our position is ideal for hiking, mountain walking, cycling and kayaking.
The "The Signal Box" is a tiny box room (with space for only one person) within the owner's model railway room. It is situated upstairs, where there is an adjacent private shower room, wardrobe and sitting area at a desk.
It is a small remote neighbourhood, four miles from the nearest shop or pub and twelve miles from the Skye Bridge. If you like peace and quiet, away from the tourist routes, this is the place for you.

Arnewood is a wood clad mobile home with outside decking. It has an elevated position with beautiful views of the area, including the famous Eilean Donan Castle. Bright, airy open plan kitchen/living/dining area with small bathroom (shower over bath). One double room and one single room. Built in the 80s it is showing its age in places (see photos) and has a few "quirks"... but the location and view definitely compensate for this. It is functional and cosy with central heating and fast WiFi.
A wood clad twin unit mobile home with open plan interior. Large deck, great views, fast WiFi, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine (in outdoor shed) and large covered carport.
Ardelve is a quiet, picturesque village which has a bakery and pizzeria. Nice double bedroom in a rustic, tired, old (250 years) cottage. However still able to offer you a warm Highland welcome! Very secluded area set on our family farm. 7 mile narrow road in with beautiful views in the hamlet of Camusluinie, near Kyle of Lochalsh. A great place to unwind. No phones. No internet. No TV. Ideal base for exploring Skye Island (25 mins from bridge) and Donan Castle (18 mins). Fantastic walks including a short trek to the Whitefalls waterfall (Eas ban waterfall).
Tigh Iseabail is a rustic cottage in a remote location.Get away from the hectic tourist trail. All very basic and certainly not 5 star accommodation. However it is clean and warm with central heating. Overall an ideal place to chill.
There are many walks from right out the front door, with the difficulty ranging from easy to hard. These include a walk to the Falls of Glomach (Britain's highest) which takes approximately 6 hours. You can walk on any of the surrounding mountains but if you do, please remember to keep your dogs on a lead (particularly if sheep and lambs are grazing). Do note that we are not on the Isle of Skye but offer a peaceful alternative away from the main tourist route and you can reconnect with tourist route in 15 minutes.

Set on our 17 acre holding on the shores of Lochcarron, near the pretty village of Plockton our cottages sit on our private beach which has a coral strand over which you can walk at low tides to get to the Heron sanctuary island. We keep racoons, llamas, donkeys, goats, sheep, hens, ducks, owls etc and have otters on the beach and many birds to watch and photograph. Perfect place to relax. A pine marten often comes to the window in the evenings for treats. Large part sleeps 4 + 2, small part 2.
If you let us know time of arrival we will meet you and show you in to our cottage which is electrically heated as well as having a wood burning stove, The heaters will be on when you arrive. The local village is two miles away and has great food in two pubs, a restaurant and a takeaway. Walking around the farm with a bag of food, you can feed the animals and, on the beach, watch out for otters, herons and other shore birds. A pine marten may visit your cottage in the evenings for treats. We have a video of pine marten feeding on the back window sill of this cottage taken recently by a guest.
Our farm has one of the most stunning views we know. There is an island which is a heron sanctuary, a coral strand and a grassy beach in front of the cottage. The railway line which runs from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh three times a days just beside the cottage and you have to cross over the line to get to it. The other side of the loch looks so close and the Applecross hill are behind them with the pass of the cattle, the Beallach, being the highest paved road in Britain winding up the hill. The pub there does fantastic food all day and keeps winning the 'best pub in Britain' awards. Great food can also be found in Plockton, 2 miles away, in two pubs and a takeaway and a lovely seafood restaurant. Kyle has both and Indian and Chinese takeaway.
  • Upea loma, mökin sijainti on erinomainen.

Otter Bay is a newly built larch-clad house we designed and commissioned. The Guest Suite suits 2 - 3 persons. One more can be catered for in The Signal Box which is a separate listing. The location, on a small peninsular by a tidal loch, close to the Kintail mountains is stunning and peaceful. All the rooms have big windows with excellent views. Guests like to tour Skye from here, but are also amazed at the local scenery. Our position is ideal for hiking, mountain walking, cycling and kayaking.
The "Guest Suite" is a spacious room on the ground floor with a private shower room. There is a king size and a single bed, a wardrobe, table and chairs. We have another letting room (see the "Signal Box" at Otter Bay) if you have 3/4 in your family or group. It will require a separate booking and availability will need to be checked.
It is a small remote neighbourhood, four miles from the nearest shop or pub and twelve miles from the Skye Bridge. If you like peace and quiet, away from the tourist routes, this is the place for you.

Choose between two very pretty bedrooms - a comfy kingsize bed or a twin. Both with good quality linens and lovely views! There is a private sitting room with a television for guests and breakfast is included.
My house is set in a large garden which goes straight down to the beach and the sea. The view is the beautiful Sound of Sleet and of the Isle of Skye. Very close is the last turntable ferry in the world which runs all season back and forth to Skye. The Glenelg Inn which serves lovely food is a short walk and Glenelg has a small village shop.
The house is also not far from Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most iconic images of Scotland! The castle is situated on an island at the point where three sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some of Scotland's most stunning scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands. You can explore nearly every part of the castle, and enjoy a journey through the history of the area. There are daily boat trips from Kyle of Lochalsh for adventures on boat and seal spotting or for something really special try the Bella Jane who sails from Egol on Skye. The last time I did that I saw dolphins, porpoises, a golden and a sea eagle, and red deer eating sea-weed on an empty sandy beach on the Isle of Rhum !! It is also possible to see the Northern Lights from the house...please note that this is not guaranteed!!
