Old Post Office House is a 160 year old, stone-built cottage in Stilligarry, South Uist and is our family holiday home that we share when we're not there. It's a 20 minute stroll or 15 minute brisk walk to Stilligarry's pristine white sand beach and the three mountains, Beinn Mhòr, Hecla and Beinn Choradail are at hand for walkers. Fishing, birdwatching, cycling, field sports and surfing are world class. Old PO House is a cosy home from home in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
Built around 1850, the house has been in my husband's family since. We only started to share it last year and have had great reviews and enjoyed having guests. The house sits above a rocky bay with views of Loch Shielavaig and Hecla. We hope you love it as much as we do. The area is ideal for anyone with a love of peace and quiet and outdoor pursuits. Walking, fishing, bird watching, photography or just escaping from the city. Fishing licences can be obtained locally. See "things to note"
