Dog friendly lodge with hot tub on the shores of Loch Oich. This lovely Scandinavian style wooden A Frame lodge with a new hot tub has recently been extensively renovated to a very high standard and has amazing loch views from its elevated position on the bankside of Loch Oich. The entrance leads into a short hallway. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with 4 drawers, a fitted wardrobe and a dressing table and an en suite shower room with a shower cubicle, toilet, vanity sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. The second bedroom has two full sized single beds and 2 wardrobes. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, toilet and vanity sink. There is an open plan fully equipped kitchen with a living area that has a TV and DVD player plus a range of DVDs for your enjoyment. The patio door opens onto decking with a hot tub and a table and chairs and beautiful, unobstructed views of Loch Oich. The lovely new kitchen has a black worktop, microwave, slimline dishwasher, electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, coffee maker etc. The dining area has a lovely wooden dining table and chairs and there are comfortable new sofas in the lounge area for enjoying the panoramic view whilst relaxing. At the back of the site is the Great Glen Way, the coast to coast route for walkers and cyclists which goes from Fort William to Inverness along the banks of the Caledonian Canal, which includes Loch Ness. There is access to Loch Oich and a water sports company on site and the Inver Garry railway museum and working engine is just behind the site. Fort Augustus, a charming village which sits at the bottom of Loch Ness, is only 8 miles away. Up to two well behaved dogs welcomed.
Accommodation Entrance As you enter Kilchuimen you immediately feel at home in the welcoming entrance hall with hanging space for your coats and a bench for shoes, utility area and a ground floor WC. From here you access the open plan living area and onwards to the two delightful ground-floor bedrooms and stairs leading to the first floor. Living The extensive open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area has been thoughtfully designed with a keen attention to detail. This light and spacious area is perfect for relaxing and socialising with friends and family while enjoying the spectacular views and perhaps a bit of Nessie spotting? The modern kitchen is well-equipped with an electric cooker, induction hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and kettle. The homely sitting area has plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs with a large Smart TV and cosy double-sided wood burner – perfect for warming you toes after a day’s exploring. The dining area has a large table and chairs and ample tableware to easily seat eight. In the summer months, the French doors can be opened to enjoy a bit of al fresco living and to drink in the wonderful views. On the first floor there is an additional sitting area with comfortable sofas and chairs. The sliding doors lead out onto a stunning glass-surrounded balcony – perfect for capturing the vista looking up the famous Loch Ness. Bedrooms and Bathrooms Kilchuimen has four double bedrooms, two located on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Bedroom 1. Set on the first floor, this spacious bedroom has wonderful views looking along the loch and also over the garden. Featuring a beautiful king-sized bed, two large built-in wardrobes and a chest of drawers, this well-appointed room has ample storage space. There is also an en–suite shower room with WC and heated towel rail. Bedroom 2. Also on the first floor, this lovely room again boasts panoramic views up Loch Ness and Kilchuimen’s garden. A king-sized bed, two large built-in wardrobes and a chest of drawers provide a lovely, comfortable space for you and your clothes! Bedroom 3. Situated on the ground floor, this is a large bedroom with views along Loch Ness and features a zip ‘n’ link king-sized bed which can also be separated into twin beds. A built-in wardrobe, bedside tables and chest of drawers allows plenty of storage space. Bedroom 4. Also on the ground floor, this spacious room enjoys views onto the garden and also features a zip ‘n’ link king-sized bed (can also be separate twin beds), bedside tables and lamps and a chest of drawers. Family Bathroom – Positioned on the ground floor, this spacious bathroom is decorated in warm, natural tones and features a large double-ended bath, a separate shower, WC and heated towel rail. Outside To the front and side of the property there is a fully-enclosed garden with plenty of seating on the patio area which takes advantage of the morning/evening sun and is ideal for barbeques of which there is a charcoal one available.
