Chania’s new Archaeological Museum covers an area of 6,000sqm, where over 3,500 artifacts be displayed. The museum’s permanent exhibition display Chania’s evolution through time, starting from its prehistoric period and will focus on the area’s society, administration, religion, commerce and everyday life.

Opened in 2022 it’s one of Greece most modern museums. This archaeological museum covers the whole history of Crete and Minoan civilisation which is the first European civilisation. You need at least three hours to visit it. Going there by foot it’s around 15 minute walk.
