Enjoy a great day trip up Highway 74 – the “Palm to Pines” Highway. 130 mile scenic route winding through desert backcountry, and connecting to the charming towns of Idyllwild, Julian, and Temecula. Take Highway 111 from downtown Palm Springs about 25 minutes to Palm Desert, turn right onto Monterey Avenue.(Highway 74). From Idyllwild, continue along the Highway to Route 243 down the mountain to the I-10, continue east back to Highway 111 and Palm Springs.
