Absolutely beautiful year round. Great for hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, picnicking, and scenic drives. Keep a look out for bighorn sheep - it’s not unusual to see them foraging near roads and trails.

Growing up in Cerro this is where we would always gather for family celebrations or to just go hiking and fishing. Beautiful scenery, it's peaceful and serene. Also a great place to run or bike, as there is very little traffic and no dogs to chase you! :)

56 miles of the Rio Grande from the Colorado/New Mexico state line to just beyond BLM's County Line Recreation Site and the lower 4 miles of the Red River. The area is home to big horn sheep, river otter, and the Rio Grande cutthroat trout. Perfect for anglers, hikers, artists, and whitewater boating enthusiasts.
