Maruyama Park is a public park next to Yasaka Shrine in the Higashiyama District. In the first half of April, the park becomes Kyoto's most popular and most crowded spot for cherry blossom.

Maruyama park is just next to Yasaka shrine. Good for walking in the morning :)

See information on the Yasaka Shrine tag (the map icon pin just west of this pin). In April and during festivals, which are commonly held here, there is live music, food stands, and a warm welcoming atmosphere.

It is a large park. There is a big cherry tree, and I want the cherry blossoms in full bloom to see. You can also walk to Kodaiji and Kiyomizu Temple. That road has history and it is very tasteful. Please try walking once.
