There’s scarcely a bar which has made history in the way the Odeon has. For decades, it was the haunt of international intellectuals. Exiled writers, painters, and musicians all found a second home at the Odeon. Klaus Mann, Benito Mussolini, Stefan Zweig, James Joyce, Albert Einstein, Lenin – the list is interminable.
This café is famous for the fascinating clientele it has attracted throughout the years, such as Einszein, Lenin, Trotsky and literati like Mann, Joyce, Remarque and Maugham. The Café still retains most of itsoriginal art nuveau decor and relaxed atmosphere.
