Lincoln Park Zoo is a 35-acre zoo in Lincoln Park. The zoo was founded in 1868, making it the fourth oldest zoo in North America. It is also one of a few free admission zoos in the United States.
Free public zoo that is home to more than 1,100 mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians; thousands of fish & insects; the zoo collection represents approximately 200 different species of animals – many of which are rare and endangered. Great time to spend time with family and friends!

It's home to a wide variety of animals which include big cats, polar bears, penguins, gorillas, reptiles, monkeys, and other species totaling about 1,100 animals from some 200 species. Also located in Lincoln Park Zoo is a burr oak tree which dates to 1830, three years before the city of Chicago was organized.
