This is epic! No, really. Coming from an East Coaster that has been in many lighthouses. You will thank me. Built in 1855 and it was the third lighthouse built on the West Coast. Check to see if they are still doing the Sunset tour.
Historic active lighthouse reached by a half-mile trail offers visitor access & scenic ocean views. Opens Saturday and Sunday only from 12:30 to 3:30PM. Enjoy the stunning view driving from Marin Highlands down to the Point Bonita parking area. 8.5 miles away.
Spectacular views looking back toward San Francisco and out west over the ocean and north of the coastline.
just a few miles southwest from the flat in the Marin Headlands, Point Bonita Lighthouse is a great place to for a hike and to see the beauty of San Francisco, the Marin Coast and the Pacific.
